- 5 years at the Monroe County District Attorney's Office where she prosecuted cases including homicides, rapes, domestic violence, child abuse and other violent offenses
- 5 years at the Bronx County District Attorney's Office where she prosecuted serious felony offenses including homicides, robberies, burglaries, assaults and gun cases

Nelson has over 25 years of litigation experience. He began his career at the firm of Nixon Peabody LLP before co-founding Thomas & Solomon LLP in 2000.

Nelson specializes in representing whistleblowers in False Claims Act cases. He also has extensive experience in conducting complex employment class action lawsuits, as well as representing employees in a variety of legal matters.
Nelson has secured over $200 million in settlements for his clients. He is also an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and a certified Federal Court mediator with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.
He has multiple times been selected by his peers to the New York Super Lawyers list, and frequently serves as a featured national speaker and author.
Nelson received his undergraduate degree from Emory University, and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
